According to Carter BloodCare,
a blood bank in Texas, "4.5 million American lives are saved each year by blood transfusions."
That's a lot of people. Did you know that every three seconds someone needs blood? I didn't.
It's amazing what a pint of blood could do for your body.
In fact, did you know that there are ten to twelve pints of blood in the human body? In fact, one unit of blood is approximately one pint.
Another fact by Carter BloodCare, is that although one donation is so little, it has the power to save three lives.
However, only 37% of Americans are eligible to donate. Only less than 10% actually do. It's sad really. Knowing you can make a difference, yet you chose not too. Another is that it takes less than an hour to go to the nearest donation center, and donate. The donation part itself only takes about ten minutes, the rest it to see if you are eligible.
So if you just took an hour out of your day, every eight weeks, you could help save three lives. Doesn't that mean something?
